Named after Peter Lehmann’s beloved wife, the Margaret Semillon is a beautiful aged white that develops over years of careful cellaring.
2012 Margaret Semillon has developed an attractive pale straw colour with a green hue, displaying hints of lemon curd, zest and green melon. The finish is crisp with a mouth-watering acidity derived from the cool conditions of this vintage.
Medium to full, bright yellow colour, with a green herb, lemon juice, basil leaf and crushed stalk aroma, together with bottle-developed characters. Lemon pith and green herbs rather than toast. The wine is fresh and remarkably under-developed, with delicacy and cleansing but seamless acidity. A fine wine, ageing gracefully, and seems set for a very long career.
