Made from an interesting blend of indigenous Italian varietals (Corvinone and Corvina) and Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is referred to as a ‘baby Amarone’.
Classified as a Rosso Veneto IGT due to the inclusion of a non-Italian varietal it replicates the Amarone production method of ‘appassimento’ – drying healthy grapes before crushing and fermenting.
The method depends on optimum picking times to allow for sufficient natural acid to remain in the grapes to balance the enriched fruit flavours. Intense bright ruby colour with lifted, fresh red fruit aromas of ripe plum, juicy red cherries and vanilla.
These follow through to the palate to balance with soft acidity and velvety tannins that extend into a long, satisfying finish.
