A background application of wood sets off gently earthy aromas of mostly dark berry fruit. There is fine detail and plenty of punch to the lightly mineral-inflected and well-concentrated flavors that conclude in a slightly drying finish. This is one of those wines where the balance isn't perfect yet there is very good depth and length. Drink 2020+.
