Layered and juicy 2015 with currants, light chocolate and cedar character. It’s full-bodied, round-textured and very pretty. Extremely long and flavorful. So friendly and bright. Drink or hold. February 2nd, 2018

What a nice surprise the 2015 Langoa-Barton is. Racy, silky and forward, the 2015 will drink well with minimal cellaring. Succulent red cherry and pomegranate fruit are nicely lifted by floral and spice notes that add aromatic intensity and layers of flavor. Silky tannins add to the wine's considerable immediacy and sheer appeal.

The 2015 vintage marked one of Bordeaux's great modern triumphs, and Château Langoa Barton captured it with all the classical charm that has defined the estate for generations. Owned by the Barton family since 1826, this esteemed Third Growth remains a benchmark for traditionally crafted Saint Julien, producing wines that combine elegance, structure and extraordinary longevity without chasing fashion.
Langoa Barton's vineyards occupy prime gravelly rises in the heart of Saint Julien, where Cabernet Sauvignon is supported by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The warm, even conditions of 2015 delivered beautifully ripe fruit balanced by vibrant freshness, creating a wine of depth, harmony and remarkable ageing potential that is already beginning to reveal its pedigree.
The colour is a deep garnet with youthful ruby highlights. Aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum and cedar are lifted by graphite, cigar box, violets and a touch of dried herbs. The palate is poised and beautifully proportioned, carrying concentrated black fruits across fine, polished tannins and bright natural acidity. Notes of tobacco leaf, cocoa and crushed stone emerge through a long, savoury finish that reflects the timeless character of this distinguished Saint Julien estate.
A magnificent companion to roast beef, herb crusted lamb, venison with celeriac purée or wild mushroom pithivier with black truffle. Drinking beautifully with a generous decant, this classic Bordeaux has the balance to reward patient cellaring well into the 2040s.
