2015 Chard Farm River Run Pinot Noir, Central Otago

River Run is Chard Farms entral Otago regional Pinot Noir made from grapes grown in their vineyards in different sub-regions of Central Otago. The deep alpine valleys and waterways of Central Otago have craved the land available for grape growing into quite distinct sub-regions. Each pocket of land has its own unique climate and soil mix producing quite different styles of Pinot Noir. River Run captures the character of each of the sub-regions where are vineyards are planted. 

"Bursting with cherry and wild berry fruit, the bouquet also gives up elements of spice and dried herbs. On the palate the wine is a seamless package of elegant cherry fruit and beautifully presented tannins and acid on the long and detailed finish - thoroughly smashable."

Lots of berry fruits are entwined with a dash of Alpine herbs and subtle spice. The spice becomes more evident as it opens up. Silky tannins with a slight smoky bacon on the finish. Would work well with bratwurst sausages.
