Light yellow colour with a toasty developed bouquet, dairly/milk-powder traces, then a full-flavoured palate with richness and complex aged characters, finishing with a firm tannin/acid grip that leaves a touch of astringency. Excellent flavour and style.24 SEP 2023 Drink 2023–2029

Pale gold in colour with a delicate bead and fine mousse. Initial aromas of lime zest and vanilla bean evolve into more complex layers of delicate elderflower blossom, honeysuckle and herbaceous linden tree. This is a powerful wine with Chardonnay the driving force and Pinot Noir providing the harmonising finesse. Elegantly structured with notes of zingy lime, lychee and honeydew, a fine chalky texture and pure lime pip acidity. Seven and a half years ageing on yeast lees in bottle has built further complexity and subtle nuances of nougat, roasted hazelnuts and brioche. With lingering and refreshing natural acidity on the finish, this is a sparkling wine of finesse, power and elegance.
