Very distinctive nose with violets and very pure blackcurrants and blueberries, as well as leafy nuances, all of which deliver a fresh impression. The palate has impressive depth and density and the cool, blue fruit at the center sits fresh and vibrant. Smoothly resolved tannins shape a distinguished, balanced and long palate. Drink or hold.

La Spinetta Barolo Campe DOCG is a dramatic and deeply expressive Barolo, drawn from one of the most revered vineyards in Grinzane Cavour. The Campe vineyard sits on steep, south facing slopes of calcareous clay and marl, soils that give Nebbiolo both power and aromatic finesse. This is a site that delivers intensity without losing elegance, capturing the full personality of Barolo in a single place.

La Spinetta, run by the Rivetti family, is known for bringing a bold yet thoughtful touch to Piedmont. Their farming is meticulous, with low yields and a strong focus on vineyard health, allowing sites like Campe to speak clearly. While their style is modern in polish, it is deeply rooted in respect for terroir and the long traditions of Nebbiolo.

In the glass, Campe is instantly captivating, with rose petal, red cherry and wild strawberry, layered with licorice, dried herbs, tobacco and a hint of dark spice. The palate is powerful yet refined, with firm, finely grained tannins and bright acidity giving the wine incredible length and drive. It feels both muscular and elegant, unfolding slowly with air and time.

This is a wine made for the table. Braised beef, veal, truffle dishes, rich pasta or aged cheeses all bring out its depth and savoury complexity. It is a wine that rewards patience, both in the cellar and in the glass.

La Spinetta Barolo Campe DOCG is built for long ageing. In great vintages it will easily evolve over twenty to thirty years, gaining layers of truffle, leather and earthy nuance while retaining its core of fruit and structure. It is one of the estate’s great wines and a true expression of the Campe vineyard.
