People may remember the buzz when gymnast Nadia Comaneci was awarded the firsts perfect score for gymnastics in 1976 Olympic. Tough act to follow.
It's the same for this release of Neudorf Moutere Chardonnay 2015.A year after Bob Campbell MW gave his first perfect score of 100 points for the 2014 vintage. The 2015 wine reflects proudly the Neudorf heritage, a line of fine Chardonnays stretching back to 1981, with international recognition from 1991.
A classic Neudorf Moutere Chardonnay style with the power, purity and character that mark this as an exceptional wine. I awarded the 2014 vintage 100 points and opened a bottle of the earlier vintage to see how it compared. Stylistically both wines are very similar, but the 2014 has greater concentration and more precision. This is certainly a great chardonnay in the Burgundy mould and showing clear cellaring potential.

I loved this wine when I first tasted it a couple of years ago and love it even more now. It's closer in style and quality to the 2014 vintage than I remember it. I've upgraded the score by one point31 DEC 2018
