2015 Reschke Museum Release Vitulus Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra

Vitulus is a wine which is not ‘oaked’ but is barrel matured. The aim is to have the roundness and length derived from time spent in oak but not to interfere too much with the complex and obvious fruit characters that are the hallmark of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.

Darkest crimson and viscous when swirled in the glass. Dark berry fruit with nuances of blackberry, blueberry and classic Coonawarra mint. These are complemented by vanilla and charry oak characters. Sweet black currant, blackberry and dark chocolate flavours up front and stalky, savoury notes on the finish. The structure is firm and full bodied almost sweet texture coming from a lengthy time in barrel.
