Note: from young vines planted in 2002
This is the first wine to display any appreciable amount of wood and even so it's subtle as the very fresh aromas of spice, black cherry, raspberry and violet scents are quite pure. The delicious and delicately textured flavors exude a discreet minerality that adds a touch of lift on the lingering finish where the wood telegraphed by the nose resurfaces.
