A blend of 50/31.3/18.7% cabernet sauvignon/malbec/cabernet franc – a first, seeing percentages of wines blended down to decimal places. Meanwhile, the wine is produced from vines over 40 years old. Ripe plum, dark chocolate, panforte, blackforest cake and mint are the main talking points here. The bouquet is immediately attractive and easy in appeal, the palate a little more sinewy than the perfume would suggest and the brooding aromatic characters tightly wound and subdued under lithe tannin. It suggests elegance and restraint but still delivers good flavour. It's one for the cellar, still.
