We have strong oak flavours here but the fruit rises to the task. In many ways this is Margaret River chardonnay in all its glory. Peach, tinned pear, cedar wood and cream characters get the show well and truly on the road, and keep it there. Value speaks for itself.
94 points Campbell Mattison James Halliday Wine Companion
At Amelia Park Wines, we produce fine wines from one of Western Australia's most renowned winemaking regions, Margaret River. We combine leading edge techniques with traditional winemaking values and practices. Winemaker Jeremy Gordon believes that success starts with the vine, and he works closely with a select group of premium vineyards to achieve superior and consistent fruit quality. The resulting wines are elegant, fruit-driven varietals, complex in structure yet easily and irresistibly enjoyable.
This Chardonnay is 100% wild fermented and matured in French oak for nine months. It has a lovely bouquet of white peach and pear with hints of honey and nougat. The palate is soft with fresh tropical fruit flavours, finishing with citrus and chalky minerality. This wine drinks beautifully now and will benefit from cellaring.
