As always, the fruit for this wine comes from the plateau at Daix, near Marsannay. The vines here sit at 400 metres, bringing freshness and purity. The very low yields bring remarkable depth and age-worthiness. It is outstanding for its level (it has been for decades) and it will live—and improve—for five to ten years.
Outstanding. Top value. A wonderfully fresh nose is comprised mostly by various red fruit scents along with a whiff of earth. The cool, pure and utterly delicious lighter weight flavors possess both good intensity and depth on the balanced and lightly saline-inflected finish. This is really quite good for its level and worth checking out.”
