From the estate Cooinda Vale Vineyard in the Coal River Valley, the vines planted '83 and '98, one parcel whole-bunch pressed, the other chilled, crushed and destemmed, 18 hours skin contact, 4 months on lees. As good an example of the reasons why I have always rated Tasmanian riesling above Tasmanian chardonnay. They age slowly and gracefully, never losing their shape or balance - particularly when they are of the quality of this polished wine with its floral bouquet building presence, its palate with the grip achieved from the time on skins.
