Soft and elegant this wine possesses aromas of plum and eucalypt, whilst concentrated fruit gives the wine an inklike hue. The generous palate displays notes of freshly crushed blackberry and graphite, giving way to a tightly wound tannin profile. Aged in seasoned French oak barriques this is a wine to appreciate now but will also benefit from 5 to 10 years in the cellar

The Gask is sourced from a single plot of Shiraz nestled into the eastern slope of Mt. McKenzie (Eden Valley) that is painstakingly nurtured by the Knight family. Planted in 1960 this elevated site yields small, intense berries that possess great intensity of flavour without sacrificing balance & poise. 2014 yields were slightly lower which helped produce a powerful yet elegant wine. The Gask displays hints of Eucalypt and spice with beautiful blueberry fruit flavours for which Eden Valley is renowned. Aged in seasoned French barriques this is a wine to be appreciated or aged 5-10 years.
