2018 Castle Rock Estate Porongurup Pinot Noir, Great Southern

I wondered what Rob Diletti would do with pinot in this great vintage. I can now report, he’s turned it into one of the finest pinots he’s yet made. This is power and finesse rolled into that glorious thing that is pinot noir. Has a mix of primary strawberry aromas with a slightly meaty, savoury combination. Then into the palate, the strength of the tannins becomes evident, while the oak cuddles the sumptuous fruit. This is a serious statement about pinot noir. Make sure you decant first.
