Matured for 10 months in large-format seasoned oak. 2018 was a perfect vintage in Margaret River, and produced wines of power, grace and balance. This has all the ripe, juicy thrust that came with the perfect 2018 vintage, plus the added bonus of some savoury spice overlaid onto the sweet fruit. A lot to like, especially at the price! Elegant.

From the maritime vineyards of Margaret River, this Shiraz captures a more refined, medium bodied expression of the variety, shaped by ocean breezes, gravelly soils and long, even ripening. Flametree sources fruit from select sites across the region, aiming for balance, savoury detail and regional character rather than overt weight. The Margaret River climate brings freshness and structure, giving Shiraz with perfume, spice and natural restraint.
The colour is deep crimson with purple hues. Aromas show blackberry, black cherry and plum, layered with cracked pepper, dried herbs, subtle cedar and a gentle earthy note. The palate is medium to full bodied, with juicy dark fruit, fine tannins and a bright acid line that keeps the wine energetic and food friendly. There is a savoury edge through the finish, reflecting the region’s cooler nights and gravelly soils. A great match for grilled lamb, barbecue, beef burgers, pepper crusted steak and mushroom dishes. Drinking well now for its vibrancy and balance, it will cellar comfortably for five to eight years, gaining extra spice and savoury complexity.
