Dark berries, coffee and aniseed aromatics. The palate is beautifully polished with dark fruits melding into some cola and sweet spice notes. Hints of iodine and sea-spray give additional complexity, with a bright high line of acidity to carry through the middle. A deeper line of tannins kicks in and carries it long into the finish with a gentle hand 28 JUL 2020 Drink 2020–2031

This has deep, rich aromas and flavors of blackberries and ripe dark plums. It delivers in a pure and supple mode and carries plenty of weight into the soft, fleshy and drinkable finish. Drink over the next five years. Screw cap.

All Shiraz, all from the Ebenezer section of the northern Barossa, the 2018 Bishop Shiraz is a super value in the context of Barossa, and Australian Shiraz in general. Matured in only 5% new oak hogsheads, it delivers bountiful cherry and raspberry fruit, accented by hints of mocha and cola. It's medium to full-bodied, plump and juicy, fruity and lush, but reined in by firm, savory tannins on the long, mouthwatering finish. It should drink well for up to a decade.

From vines 35-120yo in Ebenezer yielding 3t/ha. Open-fermented, extended maceration, then maturation for 16 months in hogsheads (40% new, 95% French). The use of French oak has put a polish on the wine, which has a loyal following.

From 35-120o vines, open-fermented, post-ferment maceration, matured for 15 months in 40% new hogsheads, 90% French, 10% American. Deep crimson-purple; a complex wine, both in terms of its savoury flavours and its texture. Black fruits provide the core of the palate, with graphite, earth and tannins all on parade. It has absorbed and totally integrated the oak, which suits the wine to a T.

Glaetzer Bishop is a true expression of Barossa Shiraz that is elegantly structured with a long finish. Matured for 16 months in a mix of 40% new oak and 60% 2-3 year old oak hogshead barrels (90% French / 10% American).

Dark purple, almost impenetrable. Black fruits abound. Dark plums and blackberry notes intermingle with anise and fresh spice. Bright and juicy with a wonderfully rich mid-palate that maintains balance and finishes with texture. Flavours of dried spice and dark berry fruits add freshness and dimension. Great drinking now but this wine will also benefit from 10—12 years of careful cellaring.
