Very youthful, bright, deep purple colour. The bouquet is chaffy, dusty, walnutty, seemingly oak-tinged, with a smoky note and some meaty charcuterie hints. The fruit seems to be missing at this point. The palate is drying, tannin-dominated and this continues into the tense aftertaste. A more savoury style, a little bit 'animal' - but not dirty - and it's distinctively different in character.
