Olivier Leflaive Côte-de-Beaune Rouge is a refined, elegant Burgundy that offers a true taste of Pinot Noir from one of the most respected names in the Côte d'Or. Sourced from several parcels across the Côte de Beaune appellation, this wine reflects the finesse and lift of the region's reds with an emphasis on red fruit purity, silky tannins and subtle earthy complexity.
Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified in small batches with a mix of whole berries and gentle extraction to preserve freshness and aromatic lift. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels, around 15 to 20 percent new, for 12 to 14 months. The result is a wine that is expressive and finely textured, ideal for early to mid-term drinking but with the structure to evolve gracefully.
In the glass, it opens with aromas of red cherry, cranberry, rose petal and a hint of undergrowth. The palate is medium bodied and supple with bright acidity, delicate tannins and a core of juicy red fruit supported by notes of spice and forest floor. There is a mineral edge and a clean, savoury finish that lingers with quiet confidence.
Food pairing: ideal with roast duck, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon or a soft cheese and charcuterie board. Also excellent with roast chicken and thyme or lentil and beetroot salad.
Cellar potential: ready to enjoy now but will develop more complexity over the next 5 to 8 years.
