Lifted, complex and spicy single vineyard red from Bannockburn
Deep, brilliant purple/red colour, with a superbly spicy, cool-climate shiraz aroma. The wine is medium to full-bodied, elegantly-structured and intense, with fine, ample tannins and excellent length. Very good balance and seamless flow. A textbook cool-climate shiraz from the Spence vineyard in the Barwon Valley. Drink to 2038.
95 points Huon Hooke for The Real Review, February 2020
Single vineyard at Bannockburn. Wild ferment, 2% viognier, 28 days on skins. Feels and tastes riper than its stated alcohol with its baked plum and licorice notes but there's plenty of floral and spice aspects to lighten the load. This is a complex shiraz, gently reductive, firm and dry to finish and with more than a little presence. Drink to 2032.
