History and tradition: this vine is very important in the history of the family because Vincent Dancer, Charles Ballot and Armand Heitz, the three cousin farmers, descendants of the family NiéVantey, are neighbours of this prestigious vintage.
Soil: very rich in stones and limestone, this terroir will give a very long and powerful wine in the mouth, high potential for aging.
Cellaring potential: 10-15 years Vine Planting: 1954 Maturation: 11 months New oak barrels rate: 20 to 40%
Here too there is a whiff of petrol to the more floral-suffused nose of spiced pear, rosemary oil and discreet lemon-lime influence. There is notably more volume and power to the broad-shouldered and muscular flavours that brim with dry extract on the firmly structured, balanced and beautifully persistent finish. Lovely stuff and built to reward mid-term cellaring.
