One of Australia’s finest sparkling wines from pristine Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay
Light-medium yellow with a vigorous mousse; the bouquet shows gently toasted bread—lightly buttered—nougat, meringue and pastries iced with lemon icing. The palate is creamy and supple, with lovely texture and balance, very good intensity, the finish lengthy with lemony acidity to close. Appetisingly dry and refreshing. Disgorged in April 2026. Drink to 2031.
95 points Huon Hooke for The Real Review, August 2026
Beltana Blanc de Blancs is one of Australia’s finest sparkling wines, and a pristine expression of cool-climate Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
The base wines for Deviation Road's sparkling wines are always fermented in stainless steel in pursuit of freshness and fruit purity. The 2019 fruit was picked with high natural acidity, which allowed the parcels for this blend to go through malolactic fermentation. A selection of the most suitable parcels are blended, bottled and tiraged in the spring following the harvest. The first disgorgement of the wine took place in August 2025, with the wine finished with a low dosage of 4g/L.
