A more sauvage and forest floor-inflected nose speaks of equally fresh aromas of primarily various red berries and a hint of humus. There is first-rate punch with excellent delineation on the moderately austere, muscular and rustic finale. This is clearly built-to-age and Valozières always needs at least a decade to round off the grippy tannins.

Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Valozières is renowned for producing wines with depth, structure, and finesse.
The nose is rich and complex, offering aromas of ripe black cherries, dark plums, and cassis, intertwined with notes of violets, earthy forest floor, and a hint of warm spices. Subtle oak influence adds layers of vanilla and toasted nuts, enhancing the wine's aromatic profile.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-structured, with firm yet refined tannins and vibrant acidity that provides balance and elegance. Flavors of dark berries, black tea, and savory spice lead to a long, mineral-driven finish that lingers beautifully.
The limestone-rich soils of Aloxe-Corton contribute to the wine’s impressive concentration and aging potential. Winemaker Michel Mallard’s careful approach, including traditional fermentation methods and aging in French oak barrels, allows the unique terroir to shine through.
This Premier Cru pairs wonderfully with roasted duck, braised beef, or wild mushroom risotto. It also complements a fine selection of aged cheeses and charcuterie. Enjoy it now for its powerful fruit expression, or cellar for 10–15 years to develop further complexity and elegance.
