Hand-picked fruit, 100% whole berries. Small open top fermenters using natural yeasts. Mlf and 18 months' maturation in French barriques (30% new). The cabernet comes off old vines planted in 1974 in Great Western and, wow, what a contribution they make! Brilliant, deep-hued purple. A powerfully good aroma of concentrated fruit and spice: blackberry, boysenberry, musky sweet aromatics, pepper and violets. It resonates across the tongue, the 2 grapes in complete unison. Tannins run deep but fine, through to the finish.
