A blend that manages to mitigate any overt sweetness thanks to Pannell's steadying hand. The vision, one of fidelity to site as much as a savoury liquid to parry with our table. Violet. Crushed rock, ferrous graphite, licorice strap, kirsch, boysenberry and Seville orange riffs wind their way along a firm band of tannin. The length, impressive. The appeal, immediate. The drinkability quotient, high.Comprising 70% Grenache, 30% Shiraz.

The Grenache spent 13 days on skins whilst the Shiraz spent 16 days. Blended in February 2017 and bottled on 26th June 2017. The Grenache was aged in a 5000L French vat and the Shiraz in 4+ year old French puncheons before being blended back to vats and settled for 4 months before bottling.
The perfumed musk and red fruits of the Grenache lift the rich black fruits and spice of the Shiraz. A complex and integrated nose, with plum, nutmeg, clove, and musk.
These two varieties unite to achieve a seamless medium bodied wine with a silky texture. The Grenache controls the mid-palate exuberance of the Shiraz and provides great length. Tightly wound, coiled and brooding. Long mouth-watering tannins.Cellar 10+ years.Works well with all strongly flavoured meat dishes try with roast kid and loads of kipflers cooked over charcoal
