Exquisite, detailed and precise, the wine offers delicately lifted aromas of lime sorbet, crunchy apple and wet limestone on the nose, leading to a refined palate delivering exceptional concentration and flow. Perfectly proportioned and impeccably harmonious. At its best: 2025 to 2040.

North-east aspect maximises morning sun, minimising sunburn. Hand-picked, chilled, whole-bunch pressed, very low extraction of 440l/t, fermented fully dry. A very expressive bouquet with a mix of pear/apple/grapefruit. The fruit flavour intensity is mouthfilling, half suggesting there's some residual sugar, but there isn't (1.1g/l of residual sugar can't be detected).

Pale lemon colour throughout the glass. Lemon balm, talcum and seashell aromatics. Lime cordial and sherbet. Chalky in texture, a good lick of crunchy phenolics balances the sweetness of primary fruit whilst acid is the powerhouse that drives it long. Classic Eden 03 Mar 2021 Drink 2021–2041

The Sons of Eden Cirrus Riesling from Eden Valley is one of the most refined and age-worthy Rieslings produced in Australia, a wine that captures both the cool-climate elegance of the region and the meticulous touch of winemakers Corey Ryan and Simon Cowham. The duo behind Sons of Eden has built a reputation for crafting wines that celebrate the individuality of Eden and Barossa subregions, with Cirrus standing as their flagship white. It is produced only in exceptional vintages, from carefully selected high-altitude vineyards in the Eden Valley where ancient soils and cool nights produce Riesling of remarkable purity and longevity.

In the glass, Cirrus Riesling is pale straw with green highlights. The nose is delicate yet powerful, offering lime zest, lemon blossom, white flowers and crunchy green apple, layered with mineral notes of slate and quartz. On the palate it is taut and finely structured, with intense citrus fruit, hints of bath salts and a striking line of acidity. The finish is long, precise and mouth-watering, underpinned by chalky texture and a crystalline purity that reflects the high Eden sites.

Food pairings lean towards dishes that highlight freshness and aromatic lift. Try it with oysters dressed with finger lime, pan-seared scallops with lemon butter, Thai green papaya salad, or lightly spiced fish tacos. With its piercing acidity and mineral backbone, Cirrus is also a sensational match for creamy goat’s cheese. Cellaring is a hallmark of this wine: it will age gracefully for 20 years or more, developing complex layers of honey, toast and lanolin while maintaining its citrus core.

Critics consistently rate Cirrus Riesling among the finest Rieslings in Australia, with reviews often in the mid to high 90s. It has picked up trophies and gold medals at national wine shows and is regularly noted for its precision, finesse and long-term cellaring potential. For collectors, it sits alongside the very best Eden Valley and Clare Valley Rieslings as a benchmark wine.
