From the heart of Valpolicella Classica comes an Amarone that reflects deep regional roots and multi generational craftsmanship. The Campagnola family has been producing wine in the Veneto since the late nineteenth century, building a reputation for authenticity and consistency across traditional Veronese styles. Based in Valgatara, within the historic Classico zone, the estate works hillside vineyards planted to Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella on limestone rich soils. The Classico designation signals origin from the original heartland of Valpolicella, where altitude, ventilation and sun exposure are ideal for the appassimento process that defines Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG.
Deep garnet in colour with brick edged highlights, the aromatics are intense and layered. Dried cherry, black plum and raisined fig unfold alongside dark chocolate, sweet spice and hints of tobacco. A subtle balsamic lift and notes of leather and forest floor add savoury depth, showing the complexity that comes from careful grape drying and maturation.
On the palate it is full bodied, rich and velvety, yet balanced by fresh acidity that keeps the wine composed. Concentrated dark fruit forms the core, framed by firm but polished tannins. Layers of cocoa, espresso, dried herbs and gentle oak build through the mid palate, leading to a long, warming finish with lingering spice and dried cherry. It delivers both the opulence and structure expected of Amarone from the Classico zone.
Pair with braised beef short ribs, venison with juniper, aged Parmigiano Reggiano, or rich mushroom risotto. Decant in its youth to allow the aromatics to open fully. This Amarone will cellar confidently for fifteen to twenty years, evolving into deeper layers of leather, dried fruit and savoury complexity.
