Always a picture of pure fruit density and latent power, the latest release of Ben Glaetzer's Amon Ra continues that theme of Barossa concentration. Glossy blackberry, black cherry and satsuma plum fruit flow readily, that compact Ebenezer power on full display. Hints of baking spice, earth, licorice and dark chocolate come into play, along with tightly packed, gypsum-like tannins for support, impressive acid cadence and a persistent and enduring exit. Always impressive.

Opaque core into a deeply staining purple rim. Mulberry, anise, nutmeg, and coffee grounds all lift from the glass. A wine of deep power and presence, it has fruit weight loaded throughout but the savoury complexities are lifting spices that provide light to the shade. Ample grainy tannins ensure it carries very long and finishes dry. This wine will be offering pleasure for many years to come 06 NOV 2022 Drink 2022–2035
