2020 Lake Breeze Cabernet Sauvignon, Langhorne Creek

Lake Breeze says the 16 prior vintages of this wine have earned an astonishing 24 trophies and 60 gold medals at shows around Australia. The grapes ex the 45yo estate vines are initially open fermented and finished fermentation in French barriques (35% new, 65% 2nd fill). Matured for 20 months, plus 2% each of malbec and petit verdot. Bottled Dec ’21 for release Sep ’22. The crust of tannins and oak that surround the polished blackcurrant fruit will soften until its release and continue thereafter for many years.
