Dark and inky in the glass. Brooding aromas of stewed plum, dried herbs, mulberry, anise and spice. Voluminous on the palate, dark and juicy with licorice, bramble and sweet oak. There's balance here though, via grainy textured tannins and bright, punchy acidity. Opulent and smart value

A rich shiraz with the clutch pressed firmly on the reductive mode. Like too many. The result, all floral and iodine, tightly meshed with oak of sorts, some acidity and a whiff of neoprene before a spurt of blue-fruit allusions across the clenched, meaty finish.
