Ca di Bruno Barbaresco DOCG from Piedmont offers cherry, rose and spice with silky tannins, savoury depth and elegance.
Ca di Bruno has earned a loyal following for producing classic Piedmont wines that capture the elegance and charm of the Langhe without losing sight of regional tradition. Working with carefully selected vineyards and a restrained approach in the cellar, the winery focuses on purity, balance and drinkability.
Barbaresco is often described as Barolo's more graceful neighbour, and nowhere is that more evident than in the rolling hills surrounding the village itself. Nebbiolo thrives on these calcareous marl soils, producing wines of perfume, finesse and complexity while often becoming approachable a little earlier than many Barolos.
The colour is a brilliant garnet red with youthful ruby reflections. Aromas of red cherry, raspberry and rose petals rise from the glass alongside orange peel, anise and sweet spice. The palate is finely structured and elegant, layering vibrant red fruits over silky tannins and fresh acidity. Notes of dried herbs, cedar and earthy complexity emerge with air, while the finish remains long, savoury and unmistakably Nebbiolo.
A superb partner for truffle risotto, duck ragù with pappardelle, braised veal cheeks or porcini mushroom dishes shared around a winter table. Drinking beautifully with a decant today while possessing the structure to reward careful cellaring over the next decade and beyond.
