From the upper part of the vineyard next to Poruzots. Full yellow. A little more oak apparent on the nose, a suggestion of butteriness. A balanced generosity with good structure and excellent energy to finish off. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted Oct 2022.

Château de Meursault Meursault Le Limozin Blanc is a refined white wine crafted from Chardonnay in the heart of Burgundy's Côte de Beaune. Château de Meursault, a historic estate with roots dating back to the 11th century, is renowned for producing elegant wines that embody the richness and precision of Meursault’s terroir. Le Limozin, a prized lieu-dit located just below the Premier Cru vineyards of Meursault, is celebrated for its ability to deliver wines of exceptional balance, complexity, and finesse.

The Le Limozin vineyard benefits from limestone-rich soils and an ideal southeastern exposure, providing optimal ripening conditions for the Chardonnay grapes. These attributes, combined with Meursault’s temperate climate, yield wines with both vibrant freshness and a luxurious texture.

The winemaking team, led by Stéphane Follin-Arbelet, applies meticulous techniques to ensure that the wine reflects the vineyard’s unique characteristics. Grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented in French oak barrels, with a portion of new oak (20-30%) used to add depth and complexity. The wine is aged on fine lees for 12-15 months, enhancing its texture and aromatic profile.

In the glass, Château de Meursault Meursault Le Limozin Blanc reveals a pale gold color. The nose is vibrant and layered, offering aromas of citrus, white peach, and pear, interwoven with hints of almond, vanilla, and a touch of flinty minerality. On the palate, it is richly textured yet balanced by fresh acidity, delivering flavors of lemon curd, green apple, and subtle toasty oak. The finish is long and elegant, making this wine an excellent companion for dishes like seared scallops, creamy risotto, or roasted poultry.
