Ripe, almost luscious chardonnay with peach, melon, nutty oak and yeast lees flavours supported by a backbone of ripe acidity. Mellow, accessible wine that is probably at, or close to, peak condition right now. 15 JUL 2022. Drink 2022–2028

Sourced in two passes from The Inlet vineyard, planted 2002, on loess soils on deep clay gravels. 224–245m elevation.
First pick (clone 458) was whole bunch pressed straight to barrel. Second pick was foot trodden, left overnight and whole bunch pressed to barrel. Indigenous yeast fermented, weekly stirring post-MLF. 16% new oak. Unfined.
Stone fruit, citrus and brioche aromas lead to a rich and textured palate, layered with quince, nectarine and green apple flavours and a thread of mineral acidity.
