The 2021 Savigny-les-Beaune Aux Gravins ler Cru has a lively, slightly candied bouquet with vibrant red fruit kirsch and desiccated orange peel. The palate has a strict and quite graphite driven bouquet, linear, a no-messin' Savigny that takes this vintage seriously. The sapid finish means it should reward cellaring. Excellent. Drink: 2024 - 2038.

In contrast to the brooding nose of the Guettes, here the nose is perfumed and highly expressive with its cool and airy aromas of red and dark currant, Asian style tea and plenty of newly turned earth character. Once again there is a beguiling succulence to the moderately powerful and overtly mineral-driven flavors that coat the palate on the focused, balanced, moderately austere and sneaky long finish. Gravains always needs extended keeping to reveal its excellence and this example will not be an exception. Drink 2031+ Sweet spot Outstanding
