The combination of limestone rich soils, excellent exposure and Serralunga's naturally powerful expression of Nebbiolo has made the cru a favourite among collectors. Giovanni Rosso has become one of the vineyard's most respected custodians, crafting wines that marry traditional Barolo character with remarkable precision and purity.

The Rosso family has farmed vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba since the late nineteenth century, building a reputation for wines that faithfully express site and vintage. The outstanding 2021 growing season delivered fruit of exceptional quality, combining concentration, freshness and aromatic detail. Sourced from the prized slopes of Cerretta, this wine showcases the strength and pedigree that have made the vineyard one of Barolo's most sought after addresses.

Bright garnet red in colour, the bouquet is intensely layered with aromas of rose petal, red cherry and wild strawberry intertwined with notes of blood orange, liquorice and sweet spice. As the wine evolves in the glass, hints of truffle, tobacco leaf and forest floor emerge, adding depth and intrigue. The palate is powerful yet beautifully refined, delivering concentrated red berry fruits, savoury earthiness and mineral detail supported by firm, finely woven tannins. Vibrant acidity provides energy and balance, while the finish is exceptionally long, unfolding with floral notes, spice and classic Serralunga intensity.

This is a magnificent partner for white truffle risotto, braised beef cheeks, venison, duck ragù or aged Parmigiano Reggiano. While already captivating with extended decanting, the structure and pedigree of Cerretta will reward patient cellaring for decades.
