Soft florals rise up through the aromatics; wisteria, jasmine, honeysuckle, citrus blossom, green apples and crushed quartz. Very pretty, very fine and very long.

Harewood Estate Porongurup Riesling is a pristine, high definition expression of one of Australia’s most revered Riesling sites. Porongurup sits at altitude in the Great Southern, wrapped around an ancient granite range more than a billion years old. These granite soils, combined with cool nights, long daylight hours and a slow ripening season, give Riesling extraordinary purity, natural acidity and a fine, mineral driven structure. This is a place where delicacy and intensity meet effortlessly.
Harewood Estate has built a strong reputation for capturing the essence of Porongurup Riesling. The philosophy is classical and restrained, with an emphasis on site rather than winemaking influence. Fruit is picked early to lock in freshness, fermented cool in stainless steel and bottled dry without oak. The aim is to let the vineyard speak clearly, producing Rieslings that are precise in youth and outstanding with age.
In the glass, the wine is tightly focused and crystalline. Lime zest, finger lime and lemon juice sit at the core, supported by green apple, white florals and subtle talc. A distinctive crushed granite character runs through the aromatics, giving the wine an almost alpine freshness and clarity.
On the palate, Harewood Estate Porongurup Riesling is bone dry, linear and mouthwatering. Citrus flavours cut cleanly across the palate, driven by bright, chalky acidity that gives real length and tension. The texture is fine and refined rather than broad, finishing with persistent lime pith, wet stone and mineral drive that lingers long after the wine has gone.
This is a Riesling made for food and for patience. It pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, Asian inspired dishes, fresh salads or anything that benefits from acidity and lift. While thrilling to drink young for its purity and energy, it will reward cellaring over ten to fifteen years, developing classic toast, lime marmalade and subtle honeyed complexity while retaining its core structure.
Harewood Estate Porongurup Riesling is precise, uncompromising and deeply expressive of place. A benchmark Great Southern Riesling that showcases the power of granite soils, cool climate finesse and long term ageing potential.
