Aromas of blueberry, creamy oak, dried herbs, sweet spice, smoked meats and dark chocolate. Complex and lifted. Fleshy, blue fruit driven, juicy and layered in flavour. The tannins are firm, shapely and deliver texture, and the acidity has plenty of cut and life. A delicious, generously flavoured cooler climate style of shiraz 14 Nov 2024

When Great Southern shiraz sings, it’s a mighty tune. This is bright and fresh with sweet red plums and loads of spice including a sprinkle of black pepper plus the distinct squid-ink regional character. It’s medium bodied with plenty of shapely tannins and acidity right behind it.

Howard Park Scotsdale Shiraz, crafted in the heart of Great Southern, Western Australia, is a distinguished expression of cool-climate Shiraz. Howard Park, founded in 1986 by the Burch family, is one of the region's pioneering wineries. Renowned for its commitment to excellence, the winery meticulously focuses on site-specific winemaking, ensuring each wine showcases its unique terroir. The Scotsdale vineyard, nestled in the forested hills of Great Southern, benefits from the region's cool climate and ancient soils, producing Shiraz of remarkable depth and elegance.

The winemaking team employs a combination of traditional methods and modern innovations to create wines that are both expressive and refined. The Scotsdale Shiraz is fermented in small batches and aged in French oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop complexity while preserving its vibrant fruit character.

On the palate, the Howard Park Scotsdale Shiraz delivers a harmonious balance of power and finesse. Aromas of black cherry, plum, and blackberry are interwoven with hints of pepper, spice, and subtle oak. The palate reveals layers of dark fruit, silky tannins, and a touch of earthiness, culminating in a long and structured finish. This Shiraz is both approachable in its youth and capable of aging gracefully over time.
