2021 Jansz Vintage Cuvee, Northern Tasmania

Jansz Vintage Cuvée from Northern Tasmania is a refined and expressive sparkling wine that showcases the cool-climate brilliance of Tasmania’s Pipers River region. Made in the traditional method and aged on lees for complexity, this vintage release is a step up from the crowd-pleasing non-vintage style—more detailed, more structured, and beautifully layered.

Tasmania is Australia's sparkling wine powerhouse, and Jansz is right at the heart of it. The estate pioneered méthode traditionnelle sparkling in the region, and their Vintage Cuvée is a flagship expression of what this pristine, maritime-influenced terroir can achieve. The cool conditions in Northern Tasmania allow Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to ripen slowly, building flavour while preserving high natural acidity—perfect for sparkling.

The Vintage Cuvée is crafted from select parcels of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in Jansz’s estate vineyards. Each parcel is fermented separately, then blended and bottled for secondary fermentation. The wine is aged on lees for several years before disgorgement, resulting in a fine mousse, creamy texture, and a beautifully integrated palate.

In the glass, it opens with aromas of lemon curd, white nectarine, almond croissant, and sea spray. The palate is crisp yet generous, offering citrus and stone fruit layered with toasty brioche, subtle nuttiness, and a long, chalky finish.
