Formerly known as Cannubi Boschis, Aleste carries one of the most heartfelt stories in Barolo. Luciano Sandrone renamed the vineyard in honour of his grandchildren, Alessia and Stefano, combining their names to create Aleste. While the name changed, the vineyard remains one of Barolo's great crus, producing Nebbiolo of extraordinary elegance, perfume and longevity. It is a fitting tribute from one of Piedmont's most admired winemaking families.
Luciano Sandrone built his reputation on an uncompromising pursuit of quality and an intuitive understanding of Nebbiolo, helping shape the modern reputation of Barolo while remaining deeply respectful of tradition. Today, Barbara Sandrone and Luca Marrone continue that legacy, crafting wines that faithfully express the unique personality of each vineyard. Aleste is widely regarded as one of the estate's flagship wines, prized by collectors for its balance, refinement and remarkable capacity to age.
Bright garnet red in colour, the bouquet is captivating, revealing aromas of rose petal, red cherry and wild strawberry layered with blood orange, violet and delicate spice. As the wine evolves, notes of truffle, tobacco leaf, liquorice and forest floor emerge, adding impressive depth and complexity. The palate is beautifully poised, combining vibrant red fruits with silky, finely woven tannins and fresh acidity. Powerful yet graceful, it flows effortlessly to a long, perfumed finish marked by savoury earthiness, mineral nuance and lingering floral notes.
A magnificent companion for white truffle risotto, braised veal shanks, duck ragù, slow roasted lamb or aged Parmigiano Reggiano. While approachable with generous decanting, Aleste possesses the pedigree and structure to reward patient cellaring for decades.
