Now, this has come together beautifully and appears so gentle and refined. Subtle aromas of spiced cherries and autumnal leaves, sumac and woodsy spices. The palate is shy of medium-bodied with fine, lacy tannins, a core of sweet-ish fruit and a savoury overlay. It’s compelling and totally enticing, so it’s a shame this is not out now – boo hoo! In 2024 apparently, but worth following up.

Moorooduc Estate is committed to producing wines with minimal intervention, allowing the true character of the fruit and terroir to shine through. The grapes for this Pinot Noir are hand-harvested from estate vineyards, with careful attention to detail throughout the growing season. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged in French oak barrels, with a portion of new oak to add subtle complexity. The result is a Pinot Noir that is both expressive and refined, reflecting the best of the Mornington Peninsula.
The Moorooduc Estate Pinot Noir is a versatile wine that pairs exceptionally well with a variety of dishes. It’s an excellent match for roasted duck, grilled salmon, or mushroom-based dishes such as risotto or pasta. The wine’s bright acidity also makes it a great pairing with dishes featuring a bit of acidity, such as tomato-based sauces or goat cheese. Lightly spiced dishes, such as Moroccan or Middle Eastern cuisine, also complement the wine’s complex flavor profile.
