From chardonnay planted with CI10V1 clone at the Hazeldene vineyard at Gladysdale in 2013. Whole-bunch pressed straight to puncheons (less than 20% new) followed by a natural-yeast fermentation and time on lees without stirring. A superb Hazeldene with white peach, wet stone, fresh mint, white flowers and a hint of macadamia nut. Pure fruited, concentrated and beautifully balanced, this will provide a lot of pleasure now and for years to come.

A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – handpicking and whole bunch pressing directly to 500 litre French oak puncheons for a natural fermentation followed by a 9 month maturation on lees.
White stone fruit, grilled citrus, praline and gun flint all vie for attention. With time in the glass, light floral notes unfurl adding to the sense of dimension and complexity. To taste, just ripe white fleshed nectarine makes way for grapefruit, melon skin and ginger lily flavours that harmoniously sit within the taught, seamless and long palate. Tastes linger for minutes. A serious, complex wine with a long future.
