Very ripe and decidedly solid and intense in its sensorial profile, it shows notes of withered yellow flowers, chopped almonds, broom, saffron, coriander and acacia honey. Full body, voluminous and dense in the sip it shows greatness and great progression. Drink now or grow old.

Among the most celebrated white wines of Piedmont, Bussiador from Poderi Aldo Conterno proves that the Langhe hills can produce world class Chardonnay alongside their famous Nebbiolo. Aldo Conterno founded the estate in the late 1960s after leaving the historic Giacomo Conterno winery, establishing his vineyards in Monforte d’Alba with a vision of combining traditional Barolo craftsmanship with a broader exploration of the region’s potential. Today the estate is run by Aldo’s sons who continue that philosophy. Bussiador is sourced from carefully selected Langhe vineyards planted on limestone rich soils, where hillside exposure and careful vineyard management allow Chardonnay to ripen fully while retaining freshness.
Golden straw in colour with brilliant clarity, the bouquet is rich yet refined. Ripe pear, white peach and citrus zest unfold alongside notes of pineapple, vanilla and toasted hazelnut. Gentle hints of buttered brioche and almond add further complexity while a subtle mineral thread keeps the aromas lifted.
The wine shows both power and elegance, with layers of stone fruit and citrus supported by vibrant acidity. Careful oak maturation brings a creamy texture and notes of vanilla and toasted nuts without overwhelming the fruit. Flavours of peach, lemon curd and almond develop through the wine before a long, balanced finish that carries both richness and freshness.
Lobster, grilled scallops, roast chicken or creamy risotto highlight the wine’s texture and depth. With its concentration and structure, Bussiador Chardonnay will continue to evolve gracefully for ten to fifteen years, gaining further nutty complexity and layered richness.
