The 2022 Barbaresco Ronchi turned out beautifully. Energetic, vivid and vibrant, the 2022 has a lot to offer. Crushed red berry fruit, mint and white pepper give the Ronchi its nervy, vibrant feel. I would give it a year or two in bottle.

A floral and peppery style. On the nose, it shines with fresh roses and violets, a vibrant mix of blood oranges and strawberries plus a touch of sweet spices. Smooth on the attack, it has medium body and refreshing acidity. The velvety tannins turn biting in the savory finish.

From the steep calcareous marl slopes of Barbaresco, Albino Rocca has long been a quiet reference point for traditional yet finely tuned Nebbiolo. The family estate dates back to the late nineteenth century and is today run by the Rocca sisters, who continue to farm sustainably and focus on expressing the individuality of each vineyard. Vigneto Ronchi is one of their most characterful sites, producing Barbaresco that balances aromatic elegance with depth and structure, capturing the nuanced beauty of this revered appellation.
A translucent garnet ruby fills the glass with classic Nebbiolo allure. Aromas unfold in graceful layers of rose petal, sour cherry and wild strawberry intertwined with notes of anise, dried herbs, orange peel and a gentle earthy spice. There is a quiet sophistication to the bouquet, a perfume that speaks clearly of place and tradition.
The palate is poised and finely structured, delivering vibrant red berry fruit and cranberry wrapped in firm yet polished tannins and lively acidity. Subtle flavours of tobacco leaf, leather and crushed stone build through the mid palate, leading to a long, savoury finish that lingers with mineral precision. Built for patient cellaring, this Barbaresco will evolve beautifully over fifteen to twenty years, developing deeper layers of truffle, dried florals and complex spice.
A magnificent partner for soulful northern Italian cooking, it shines with slow braised beef, porcini risotto, roasted game birds or aged hard cheeses. Albino Rocca Vigneto Ronchi Barbaresco captures the timeless elegance of Piedmont, perfect for candlelit dinners, autumn gatherings and those moments when a truly classical Nebbiolo brings both depth and emotion to the table.
