Sourced from the “Duck Pond” vineyard at the northwestern end of the Mount Dandenong range. 200 metres altitude.
A combination of destemmed and whole bunch fruit. Fermented and matured in old French and new Austrian oak for nine months. Unfined and unfiltered.
A deep, dark, brooding take on Yarra pinot, with blood orange, spice and meat framed by suede-like tannins and fresh acidity.
This vineyard is located at the north-western end of the Mount Dandenong range at an altitude of 185 – 200m asl. The aspect of the block is south east, meaning the vineyard has less direct sun exposure in the hot summer afternoon. The Soils are rhyodacite rock (Devonian era volcanic eruptions over 400 million years ago), over a top soil of nutrient poor light grey loam, which is derived from the erosion of the rhyodacite rock.
A savoury style of Yarra Valley Pinot Noir. This wine will continue to improve over the next 10 years or more from vintage.
