2022 Bleasdale Generations Shiraz, Langhorne Creek

The fruit feels pure, and the balance is spot-on. This is another cracking shiraz from Bleasdale. It's sweet with plum flavours, tempered by spice and mint notes, and complexed by flavours of woodsmoke, cedar, hay and black pepper. It's a lovely wine, no arguments.

Shiraz was the first red grape variety planted in Langhorne Creek at Bleasdale in 1858 and continues to thrive today. Individual vineyard blocks are picked and crushed separately before maturation and blending.Matured 12 months in new (22%) and seasoned French oak puncheons.

This wine shows flavours of ripe plums and other dark berries, layered with licorice, pepper and fresh spices. Drinking well now, but with the potential to be a long term cellaring prospect if desired. Lightly fined and racked before bottling without filtration, it is normal for some sediment to form. Decanting one hour before drinking is recommended.
