Fresh and lively this wine boasts aromas of dark raspberry, plum, coriander and dried potpourri followed by notes of toasted vanilla. Strawberry and cranberry coulis lead on the palate and are accented by subtler flavors of blood orange peel, dried sage and chocolate, leading to a dry supple finish. Pair with roasted duck breast.

93 points Tonya Pitts for Wine Enthusiast

Six generations of the Bogle family have farmed the fertile soils of California's Sacramento Delta, building one of America's most respected family owned wineries along the way. Since the late 1960s, Bogle Vineyards has earned a loyal following for producing wines that consistently deliver quality, character and value. Led by Director of Winemaking Warren Bogle and his team, the winery focuses on sustainable vineyard practices and wines that overdeliver for their price point.

Pinot Noir can be a challenging variety in California, but the 2022 release captures the generous fruit and silky texture that make the grape so appealing. Fruit is sourced from cool climate vineyard sites where long growing seasons help preserve freshness and aromatics. Gentle handling and carefully judged oak maturation allow the variety's natural charm to shine through while adding layers of complexity.

Bright ruby red in colour, the bouquet opens with ripe cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry aromas, followed by hints of rose petal, vanilla bean, baking spice and a touch of forest floor. The palate is soft and supple, offering juicy red berry flavours layered with plum, subtle cola notes and gentle oak spice. Fine tannins provide structure without heaviness, while fresh acidity keeps the wine lively and balanced through a smooth, lingering finish.

Roast duck with cherry sauce, herb roasted chicken, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto or a caramelised onion and goat's cheese tart all make excellent partners. Its approachable style makes it ideal for immediate enjoyment, although it will continue to drink beautifully over the next three to five years. Charming, fruit driven and wonderfully versatile, it is a Pinot Noir that delivers plenty of California personality in every glass.
