From a south-facing block that sits at 800m on the slopes of Mount Canobolas on free-draining volcanic loams; 10% whole berries, and fermented in 30% new French puncheons, with the balance to third-use puncheons. Blackberries, cherries and pomegranate molasses. Violets and hibiscus. The wine is high-toned and elegant. Slippery and lithe, acidity shapes the palate with dusty tannins and long flavour length. The final note is the crunch of red lingonberries. A very smart wine.

Hints of spice and tobacco accompany powerful fruit flavours on the palate, while subtle red fruits provide an elegant nose. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will benefit from extended cellaring.
