2022 Castello di Neive Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, Piedmont

Castello di Neive is one of Piedmont's historic estates, its origins tracing back to the eighteenth century in the heart of the village of Neive. Surrounded by some of the region's most prized vineyard sites, the estate has built a reputation for producing wines that honour traditional winemaking while showcasing the elegance and character of Nebbiolo. Bright garnet ruby in colour, the bouquet is beautifully expressive with aromas of rose petal, red cherry and wild strawberry layered with notes of violet, blood orange and sweet spice. As the wine opens, subtle hints of anise, dried herbs and forest floor emerge, adding complexity. The palate is elegant and finely structured, delivering flavours of red berries, sour cherry and earthy nuances supported by silky tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is long, savoury and classically Nebbiolo, lingering with floral notes, spice and mineral detail.
