Clear fresh purple. a very attractive bouquet, less weighty than the 2018-20 period, and much the better for it. Vigorous fresh cherry and raspberry. Excellent energy with good acidity, and considerable class for this level. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted Oct 2023.

Château de Meursault Bourgogne Rouge is an inviting Pinot Noir that reflects the approachable elegance of Burgundy's renowned winemaking traditions. Crafted at the historic Château de Meursault, an estate with roots dating back to the 11th century, this wine embodies the charm and accessibility of the Bourgogne appellation. Known for its dedication to quality and terroir-driven expressions, Château de Meursault produces wines that resonate with both seasoned enthusiasts and those new to Burgundy.

Sourced from vineyards located in the Côte de Beaune, the Pinot Noir grapes benefit from the region’s ideal growing conditions. The mix of clay and limestone soils, combined with Burgundy’s temperate climate, lends this wine its balance of freshness and complexity. Sustainable viticulture ensures that the vineyards thrive in harmony with nature, preserving the essence of the land.

The winemaking team, led by Stéphane Follin-Arbelet, follows traditional Burgundian methods, ensuring the wine showcases its varietal character. After hand-harvesting and careful sorting, the grapes undergo fermentation and are aged in French oak barrels for 10-12 months. This gentle aging process enhances the wine’s structure while maintaining its vibrant fruit profile.

In the glass, Château de Meursault Bourgogne Rouge reveals a bright ruby color. The nose is an aromatic blend of red cherries, strawberries, and cranberries, with subtle hints of spice and earthy undertones. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and supple, with soft tannins, lively acidity, and a smooth, fruity finish. This versatile wine pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, pork tenderloin, or a simple cheese board.
